I was using a cheap plastic neti pot before getting this and was a bit uncomfortable putting hot water in the plastic and I never felt as if the plastic was sterile enough. I also have a concern about unhealthy chemicals in plastic so this ceramic pot eases that worry. I really like this neti pot. It is nice and solid.
